With Christmas on the horizon it’s time to start thinking about festive decorations, nothing beats hanging a fresh wreath on your front door, twinkling lights and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the window. We may not be able to party and have the huge family gatherings we’re all used too, but we can take great pleasure in our decorations. Victoria McArdle from Secret Garden Events Florist gives us a step-by-step guide for making your own Christmas wreath.

YOU WILL NEED

• A straw base
• Secateurs/scissors
• Stiff florists wire
• Binding wire
• Moss and a selection of garden foliage of your choice; holly, laurel, eucalyptus, pittosporum, conifer, ivy, box and viburnum all work well.
• Decorations such as; pinecones, dried oranges/limes, cinnamon sticks, you could spray dried seed heads or hydrangea flowers for that extra bit of sparkle.
• Ribbon
