We’ve all acknowledged loss and uncertainty throughout the pandemic. However, NØRDEN’s Hayley Flangan was given a gift – of time. Out of lockdown comes a launch, a while in the making, but as they say – good things come to those who wait.
The team at North Berwick-based NØRDEN are not only slightly nerdy about design, they’re totally obsessed with the Nordic aesthetic. Promoting new Scandinavian design, they discover creative independent designers and display iconic brands. Taking inspiration from their Nordic muse and the spirit of the north, they curate a selection of homeware and lifestyle products from around the world. As journalist and broadcaster Simon Savidge says; ‘...the spirit of the North is diverse and multifaceted. The North is not just around us, or a particular location to visit – but a place within us. It’s something we take with us when we set out to find our space in the world and when we spread Northern stoicism, joy, grit, humour and hope wherever we go.’
As ideas people, who love to innovate and are constantly looking to inspire, the next step was to take their collection online and NØRDENER was launched. Hayley explains; “We have mapped our course to fascinating online content and fulfilling in-store experiences. And now we’ll be heading into uncharted territory with our own brand products.”
Of course you’ll still find everything in-store, so make sure you pop in and say ‘Hej’. The support you give to the high street now, as we all adjust to the new normal, will help them be there for you in years to come. And for that, team NØRDEN say ‘Tak!’
