Shiver me timbers! Pirate Weekend is back at the Scottish Seabird Centre ready to take on another weekend full of swashbuckling fun, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October.

One of the highlights of the Seabird Centre’s events calendar and inspired by the link between Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island and the nearby island of Fidra, Pirate Weekend is a treasure chest full of fun, celebrating the high seas. Enjoy an ‘X-marks the spot competition’, show your sabre skills, try your hand at pirate penny games and set out on a pirate treasure hunt. There will be plenty of other activities each day from 11am to 4pm including arts and crafts as well as face painting. Alex Turnbull, Discovery Centre Manager, said: “Pirate Weekend is always great fun and it’s so fantastic to see our visitors dressed to the nines, as salty sea dogs or pirate princesses. There will be prizes for the best dressed, which every year is fiercely contested, and rightly so! It’s brilliant to see everyone make such an effort!”
