Sarah Thomson local personal stylist tells us how to make the most of our wardrobe with the change in seasons ahead.

As summer winds down and we head into autumn and after months of wearing shorts, sandals and summer dresses we are approaching that tricky season, where outfits take a little more planning. Does this mean running out and buying a whole new wardrobe? No, the trick is to invest in wardrobe staples which can be worn on their own or layered up in the coming months. With some styling tips your favourite summer pieces can be restyled for cooler autumn days.

The versatile midi dress is a beautiful piece which can be worn all year round with some clever styling. Add trainers and a denim jacket for early autumn. For cooler days add a polo neck jumper and ankle boot. A thin polo neck will look great under a dress where as a chunky kit will fabulous over a dress.
